Every Pulse is built and tested individually. We don't mass-produce them and we don't drop-ship. When you order, yours is built, bench-tested on a real battery, and posted out.

The one that saves boats

A marine float switch in the bilge, wired back to your Pulse. If water reaches it you're told within seconds — wherever you are. A boat taking on water at its mooring is the most expensive thing that can happen to it, and almost always the most preventable.

  • It knows a wave from a floodWater has to be there continuously before it alarms, so a bilge slopping about in a blow doesn't wake you.
  • It watches its own wiringIf the cable is unplugged, cut or chafed through, the app says so. Most bilge alarms can't tell a broken cable from a dry bilge — both are silence.
  • Plugs into the PulseThe float switch needs siting in the bilge and the cable running back — about fifteen minutes with a screwdriver.

Not the same as bilge pump switching

The bilge water alarm tells you there's water. It doesn't pump it out, and it isn't a substitute for a working bilge pump. If you want your Pulse to switch the pump on as well, that's a custom build — see custom switching below. Plenty of owners have both.

Do I need WiFi on my boat?
No. The Pulse has 4G built in with its own SIM, and ten years of data is included. If your phone gets signal at the mooring, your Pulse will too.
What does the £9/month cover?
One subscription for everything: live Pulse monitoring, all alarms and email alerts, plus the Boat Owner tier of the ElecBot app with AI fault diagnosis. No other network fees or contracts.
What if I stop subscribing?
Your Pulse and your data stay safe, but live monitoring and alerts pause until you resubscribe. Pick up where you left off any time — no penalty, no re-pairing.
Are the alarms preset, or can I choose them?
They're entirely yours to set. You choose your own low and high voltage levels and your own high and low temperature limits, and you can change them any time from the app. Nothing is fixed at the factory.
Where do the alerts go?
To whatever email address you enter — plus in-app. Set it to the inbox you actually check and you'll hear the moment a threshold is crossed, the boat leaves its geofence, or the unit goes offline.
Can more than one person watch the same boat?
Yes. Invite family, a co-owner, your skipper or the marina office and multiple apps can view the same Pulse at once — everyone sees the same live data and receives the alerts.
Can I monitor more than one battery or boat?
Yes — add extra Pulse units to the same account for a small monthly add-on per device. Yards and fleets should ask about Control Centre pricing.
How long until I get it?
Typical lead time is 10 working days. Each Pulse is built and bench-tested by hand rather than pulled off a shelf, and most orders go sooner than 10 days. You'll be emailed when yours goes into build and again when it ships.
What are the £49 sensors, and do I need them?
No — a Pulse works fully on its own, watching battery voltage, temperature and position. The two sensors are optional extras. The door sensor tells you when a cabin, locker or hatch is opened. The bilge water alarm tells you if water reaches the bilge. Both are £49 and can be added when you order or at any time afterwards.
Is the bilge alarm the same as bilge pump control?
No, and it's worth being clear. The £49 bilge water alarm tells you there is water — it does not pump it out, and it is not a replacement for a working bilge pump. Switching a pump on remotely is a custom build, priced separately. Many owners have both: the alarm to know, the switching to act.
Can I add a sensor later, or only when I buy the Pulse?
Either. Add them at checkout, or order one at any point afterwards and we'll match it to your existing unit. Sensors are posted in their own box.
How hard are the sensors to fit?
The door sensor is stick-on and wireless, and it arrives already paired to your Pulse — two minutes and nothing to wire. The bilge alarm plugs into the Pulse, but the float switch needs siting in the lowest part of the bilge and the cable running back, so allow about fifteen minutes with a screwdriver.
Can Pulse switch things on, not just monitor?
Yes — as a custom build. We can spec a Pulse with remote switching for bilge pumps, lighting, chargers, ignition disable and more, controlled from the app. Custom units are built to order and priced individually; switching functions should be fitted by a competent installer.
Is it hard to fit?
If you can change a battery, you can fit a Pulse. The fused lead connects to the battery terminals, the probe goes wherever you want to measure, and the app pairs by scanning the QR code on the unit — you set it all up yourself, no installer needed.
